The Counter was an independent digital newsroom conducting deep investigative journalism to heighten awareness around America’s ever-changing food system. With an aim to expand and diversify their audience, they partnered with Athletics to create a new visual system and web experience that focuses on the intersection of food and the environment, business, politics, technology, and culture.
